Stand Up Comedian Specials you MUST check out on Netflix (2020)
Laughter is the best medicine they say, and right now we are in dire need of some good old laughter. Everything around is so negative and scary these days that we all need a break to forget all the madness and just laugh for a few minutes, unapologetically. So here are some stand-up comedians on Netflix that you must check out.
Hannah Gadsby: Nanette
Gadsby is amazingly funny, really funny. She seamlessly makes her sexuality an integral part of her jokes without overdoing it, the art that many have not learned yet. She includes her personal anecdotes into her stand up which makes it special, and here we are not talking about made-up personal events. She grew up in Tasmania so her content focuses a lot on that aspect as well. Do watch it for a hearty laugh.
Ali Wong: Baby Cobra
Ali Wong is a brilliant actress and also an explosive stand up comedian who just blows up the stage every time she performs. Her stand up comedy jumps in and out of many of our modern life verticals like teenhood, pregnancy, relationships, dating, and the likes, and hence she connects with the viewers instantly.
James Acaster: Repertoire
James Acaster is a British stand-up comic whose four-episode Netflix series Repertoire is a perfect binge-watch material. With every episode lasting an hour, his seriousness in handling the utmost crazy situations on stage is marvelous.
Trevor Noah: Afraid of the Dark
We all know him thanks to his antics on the most famous The Daily Show. In his Netflix special, he does exactly the same things he does on his show but in a better manner. Here he recounts his own Coming to America story and how growing nationalism is affecting the world currently, all through laughter.
